Dr Mayank Kaushik obtained a Bachelor Degree in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering with honours from India. During his Bachelor Degree, he worked as a trainee at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), in the Microwave Remote Sensing Area (MRSA). Mayank received his Masters Degree in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering (Adv.) from the University of Adelaide in 2007. Soon after, he was appointed as a research assistant at the University of South Australia and University of Adelaide to work on various audio signal processing-related projects for the Defence Science and Technology Group (DST Group, formally known as DSTO). In 2009, he was granted the University of Adelaide Divisional Scholarship for his PhD studies. During his candidature, Mayank was successful in publishing his research work in a number of high impact journals such as Applied Physics Letters and IEEE Photonics Letters. He completed his PhD within 3 years and received the Dean’s Commendation for Doctoral Thesis Excellence and was awarded the University of Adelaide Gold Medal for his outstanding efforts. In 2012, Mayank was appointed as a research scientist at one of the leading Australian government organisations, where he is currently working at an executive level.
