What is Ignite entry program exam?
The Ignite Program in South Australia is a specialised learning initiative designed for gifted and talented students with high intellectual potential. Offered at Glenunga International High School, The Heights School, and Aberfoyle Park High School— all of which are Department for Education (DfE) Special Interest Schools. The Ignite Program provides a unique opportunity for students to progress at a pace suited to their abilities. As the structure and approach may vary between schools, we recommend contacting each participating school directly for specific program details. The Ignite Program creates a stimulating environment that fosters both academic growth and potential.
Who is the Ignite Program Entry Exam for?
We are offering preparation for students entering Year 7 in 2026, focusing on those currently in Year 5 in 2024. The entrance tests are typically held each February, so we anticipate the next test to take place in February 2025 for the 2026 school intake.

How can my child enroll in the Ignite Program Entry Exam Preparation Course at Tutors SA?
1. Register for the Selection Test
Due to the high demand, a Selection Test will be held to select and group a limited number of students. It is compulsory to take the test to get selected to the Tutors SA scholarship classes.
2. Sit for the Selection Test
Tutors SA will release the results in due time after the test is taken and advice further on the enrolment process to the e-mail address provided upon registration.
3. Receive results with the Offer of Enrolment

Please note that places are limited, and students are selected and grouped based on a selection test (more details on the test and the registration process are provided below under section 8). Note that prior registration is compulsory for the selection test.

What are our goals in preparing students for the ACER®, Ignite & STEM Scholarship Tests?
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Tutors SA offers special scholarship preparation courses for students currently in Year 5 in 2024, targeting ACER® Scholarship Tests, Ignite Program Entry Exam, and STEM Pathways and Accelerator Entry Tests organised by the Australian Council for Education and Research (ACER).
The main course runs from July to February.
This course covers all the ACER®, Ignite and STEM components in a single course. If you would like your child to sit for one or all the these tests, you will only need to enrol in the Ignite Exam Preparation Course.
To teach and train students in examination techniques, time management skills, and better exam finishing skills.
To improve core academic skills in Maths and English that are essential for the scholarship tests and entrance exams.
To improve students’ confidence to work under-pressure and exam conditions for best results.

What is the selection process for the Tutors SA Ignite Program Entry Exam Course?

- Selection Test Fee – $50.00 (including GST) – includes the marking of the test and providing written feedback on the test result.
